FUE, DHI and Sapphire — what's the difference?

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) removes individual grafts from the donor area and implants them into fine channels, with no linear scar. Sapphire FUE uses sapphire blades to open finer, cleaner channels, which can support dense, precise placement. DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) uses a Choi implanter pen to extract and place grafts in one motion, giving tight control over the angle and direction of each hair. Which one suits you comes down to your hair, your goals and what your surgeon sees when they examine you. There's no single technique that's right for everyone.

The growth timeline

Here's the part that catches most people off guard: the transplanted hair usually falls out within the first few weeks. That shedding is normal and expected, not a sign anything has gone wrong. Fresh growth starts coming through over the following months, is clearly visible by around six months, and keeps thickening and maturing up to roughly twelve to eighteen months.
